Challenge and Outcome: Steel Access Platform and Multi-Line Conveyor

Wrightfield worked in partnership with Bradman Lake to deliver a steel access platform and fully integrated conveyor and distribution system for a high-volume food processing facility.


The project involved handling product from three separate spiral freezers and delivering it to any one of five packing lines. Each packing line was configured for different product types, pack sizes, or customer requirements, meaning flexibility in product routing was essential to maintain efficiency and throughput.


Steel Access Platform and Multi-Line Conveyor

A key requirement was the ability for operators to dynamically control where product was sent. Depending on production schedules, product coming off a spiral freezer might need to be directed to a specific packing line set up for a particular box format. This required a smart, responsive conveyor system capable of distributing product accurately and reliably.


Wrightfield designed and manufactured a bespoke multi-lane conveyor solution incorporating automated routing and product control. The system allowed product to be singulated and directed via ploughs and diverters into the correct packing line, ensuring smooth flow and minimal manual intervention.


To support both access and system control, Wrightfield also designed and installed a full structural access platform over the conveyor system. This platform housed the centralised control system, giving operators and production managers clear visibility and control over the entire process. From this elevated position, they could easily monitor flow and make real-time decisions on product routing.


The project combined mechanical design, system integration, and structural engineering, delivering a complete end-to-end solution. By working closely with Bradman Lake’s packaging systems, Wrightfield ensured seamless integration between conveying and packing operations.


The result was a highly flexible, efficient system capable of adapting to changing production demands while maintaining consistent performance across all lines.
